Taylor County Occupational Tax

Every person or business who renders services to another for compensation.

The license fee is imposed on compensation earned for work performed within the City of Campbellsville or Taylor County, not location of residence.

Every employer (whether for profit or not for profit) who pays wages, salaries, commissions, tips, or other taxable compensation to an employee for work performed within Campbellsville or Taylor County, Kentucky is required to withhold and remit to Occupational Tax Office.

Quarterly Schedule:

1st Quarter (January - March) -                  Due April 30

2nd Quarter (April - June) -                        Due July 31

3rd Quarter (July - September) -                Due October 31

4th Quarter (October - December) -           Due January 31

Net Profit fees are collected from gross earnings of all business ventures at a rate of 1% for Taylor County and a rate of 1% for the City of Campbellsville.

The Net Profit fees are collected annually and based on Federal Tax Returns due by April 15th or 105 days after Fiscal Year end. No company that pays a franchise tax to the county shall be required to pay a license fee on net profits.

If an extension is needed, the request must be made on or before the due date. The extension is good for 6 months after the request is turned it and accepted. To request an extension, a completed Form 7004 along with a letter requesting the extension with the business information (business name and account number) included on the letter.
